A couple has been mocked over social media for their ‘tacky’ wedding as they decided to scrap the fancy outfits and banquet of a meal for a cosy set of PJs and a bowl of cereal. However, some thought it was a brilliant idea.
A lot of brides find that when the time comes in their life for them to plan their special day, the bridezilla within them takes over and their sensible budget goes out of the window.
But for one couple this wasn’t the case, as they decided that for their big day all they wanted is to be chilling in their PJs and having a bowl of cereal with warm milk. Basically, one massive sleepover wedding!
Despite their happiness about how the day went down, some people had something to say.
A guest posted the wedding on Reddit, revealing: “I’m all for people who go for low-budget weddings, but then there’s this…
“Yes, the bouquet is a pinwheel. All guests were asked to wear pajamas, many of them were custom with cringey text.
“One of the groomsman’s said ‘brotha’ on it. Cups of cereal and unchilled milk were served as refreshment.”
Plenty joined the bandwagon, slamming the wedding theme and how the couple thought they could pulled it off.
One person joked: “I can get behind the comfy PJs. Warm milk..ew.”
Another comment was slightly harsher: “… this isn’t a low budget wedding. This is just plain lazy as fuck wedding. Seriously”.
Whilst there were plenty of critical comments, there were also some people who appreciated what the couple had tried to do.
Commenting on the thread, one person stated: “Honestly this sounds amazing. Think of how cheap the bridesmaids’ pajamas are. 10/10 would do a frugal Saturday breakfast wedding”.
Another added: “I don’t think it’s lazy, it’s clearly a theme they were going for. From other comments, it looks like they put a lot of work into it. Maybe it’s significant to them, or maybe they were trying to be fun instead of boring their guests. I dunno, it’s their wedding, so judging with no context is a bad idea”.
Now, this may sound like a wacky wedding idea but there’s been plenty of other unorthodox wedding traditions being made, including a happy couple who had Domino’s pizza for their wedding meal and also, the bride who was surprised with a chicken nugget bouquet.
