Even if you’re a happy meat-eater it has to be said, Burger King’s description of their new sandwich sounds delicious!
According to the site, the new Halloumi Burger is “Served in a buttery brioche bun with freshly cut crisp lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and creamy mayo”.
Speaking ahead of the release of the exciting new addition, a Burger King spokesperson stated: “Halloumi lovers across the UK rejoice and mark your calendars – the 8th of July will see Burger King launch the highly-anticipated Halloumi Burger nationwide.
“Made with crispy and delicious halloumi cheese from Cyprus, the Halloumi Burger will have lovers of this Cypriot delicacy filled with excitement.
“With the UK now earmarked as the biggest importer of halloumi, chowing down on over 2,000 tonnes of the Cypriot delicacy per year, the demand for halloumi has reached fever pitch and Burger King have listened.
“Bringing halloumi to the masses, Burger King is excited to be amongst the first quick-service restaurant to offer halloumi burgers to the high streets, stations, and airports, all at an accessible price!”.
It turns out us Brits really do love halloumi!
If all this sounds too good to miss, then you’ll be pleased to know the Halloumi Burger sandwich is available for only £3.99, with the standard meal deal costing £5.99, only slightly more than the regular Whopper Meal, which costs only £5.39.
And if you skipped breakfast this morning and need something slightly more substantial, the double meal will set you back £7.49, which is still an absolute bargain!
The Halloumi Burger isn’t the only new addition to the Burger King menu either. The fast-food chain also recently introduced the Upside Down Whopper, ahead of the release of the hugely popular Netflix Original, Stranger Things.
I don’t know about you but any kind of Whopper, upside down or otherwise sounds pretty darn good.
So if you’re looking for a late-lunch fix this afternoon, and if you’re a Veggie who’s keen to try out new foods that won’t break the bank, then make sure you head down to your nearest Burger King so you can be one of the first to try out the all-new Halloumi Burger.
