Carling has redesigned their glasses so when carrying four pints and it’s a lot less hassle.
There’s nothing worse than getting a round of drinks for your mates and then not being able to carry them all back. Most of us can make carry three glasses with the ‘triangle’ technique, where you put two glasses next to each other and one in front, making it the perfect set up to return with your drinks. But what if you’re feeling generous and have offered to buy another drink? You either have to make two trips, do two at a time or even more embarrassingly, admit defeat by asking for a tray.
This has long been a problem for those of us who regularly frequent our local but the geniuses at Carling have come up with the answer to this common, albeit, very specific problem.
The answer? Carling has redesigned their pint glasses by adding a ‘tactile grip’ to make it easier for us drinkers to carry four pints at a time. Just what a ‘tactile grip’ means, we’re not sure, but judging by the pictures, it really does look like it’ll be easier for us all to carry an extra glass back to the table.
That’s not all Carling changed though, they’ve also added a nucleated bottom to the glasses which will help your beer stay fresher for longer. Discussing the new-look glasses, Carling brand director, Miranda Osborne said: “Our aim was to create the perfect glass for the perfect pint, whilst responding to the needs of our customers. We hope people find getting pints in for friends a far more comfortable experience now”.
Touching on the much more serious topic of potential spiking by leaving the extra drinks unattended, Osborne also added: “We know our customers can feel uncomfortable leaving drinks on the bar because they can’t carry them all, so we wanted to design something that could help alleviate this problem”.
The new-look pint glasses will be introduced this weekend, just in time for the first May Bank Holiday weekend and will be available in thousands of pubs, including popular chains Wetherspoons and Greene King.
So, when you’re in your local this weekend, make sure you impress your friends by nonchalantly carrying an extra pint and putting it calmly down on the table.
Is there a better way to start off the bank holiday weekend?
