Fans were left pondering whether part of the show had been set up for entertainment purposes last week and now, presenter Declan has stepped in to address after receiving more comments from social media users as to whether it’s all a ‘fix’.
On Monday evening, Coronation Street star, Sair Khan was the third celebrity to exit the jungle, however, her exit has left a number of fans even more suspicious.
A few weeks ago, fans were convinced there had been some meddling going on during a bushtucker trial which could have been a hint that some parts of the show are in fact, set up.
Viewers saw Rita Simons, James McVey and John Barrowman score an impressive 10 out of 11 stars as they faced their fears in a water-rafting challenge.
Fans were left gobsmacked when they saw three celebrities get out of the water completely bone dry.
The team of three left fans confused as to how they continued onto a zip-wire section of the trial ,without being even remotely damp after getting out of the water.
One viewer asked: “How can they be bone dry after doing a water challenge??”
While another said: “Those three look very dry after getting out of the river then getting to the zip line! Even their hair has dried!”
“How are Rita, John and the other one so dry after “just” getting our of the river #ImACeleb.” one confused viewer questioned.
“Just been wading in the water yet they are bone dry at next section. Should be wetter than an otters belly but as dry as virgin.” one hilariously quipped.
Another went on to post: “Did #Rita #James #John run off the water on the way to the next star? Wet one minute bone dry the next?!?”
Why was Sair Khan’s exit seen as a ‘fix’?
A handful of campmates were shown not to be wearing their backpacks when Holly and Dec entered the camp to reveal who would be leaving. Fans have suggested that both Noel Edmonds and Malique Thompson-Dwyer must have already known they were about to exit, before the show went live.
Prior to Sair being confirmed as the next celebrity to be leaving, some viewers had already made the prediction based on the fact that she had had her ‘hair done’.
One viewer wrote on Twitter: “@imacelebrity still not rigged?#SairKhan had done her hair and was ready to leave…. hmmmm something a bit fishy about these vote offs @antanddec @hollywills”
However, Dec slammed fans theories and seemingly found the whole thing quite funny.
The presenter joked: “Done her hair? You’re clutching at straws now!”
In last night’s show, he made fun of the comments even further after receiving a number of comments on social media about whether parts of the show were ‘a fix’.
“If the conspiracy theories are anything to go by whoever had their backpack on.” he mocked live on air.
However, ITV stepped in and added that all campmates have their backpacks ready and prepared in the event of being voted off, so there is absolutely no evidence behind this.
The source said: “All the contestants pack up whatever they want to bring with them before Dec and Holly go into camp.
“Malique was the only contestant with his backpack on but if you looked around camp there were lots of other bags packed on the floor ready to go.
“It is also up to contestants exactly how much of their stuff they want to take out of camp. It looked like Malique put his bag on as he knew there was a good chance it would be him. He was the least famous of the people in there and hadn’t made a big impression.”
There were also rumours of a fix after Rita’s exit last night
The remaining campmates received their letters from home in last night’s episode, but fans claimed that Eastenders actress, Rita Simons seemed far too excited about seeing her family just hours before she was booted off the show – coincidence, or did she already know she was about to leave?
After receiving her letter, Rita said: “It’s so tangible that I’m about to see my family. My barriers have come down a bit and I just miss them all massively.”
When Holly and Dec revealed the news of Rita’s eviction, she didn’t seem too shocked by the news; nor did she seem saddened, despite having spent three whole weeks with her fellow campmates.
She simply responded: “I’m sorry, I’m just so happy.”
Fans of the show jumped onto Twitter to comment on her bizarre reaction.
“Rita said earlier on in the show “I’ll be seeing my friends and family soon” like again is it FIXED?? She knew??” a fan blasted on the social media site.
“Rita knew she was leaving before they come into the camp to tell them. Stating something along the lines of “I’m about to see my family” after her letter was read out. And was then “voted” off 20 minutes later.” one curious fan wrote.
Another person added: “Well i’ll be! Its happened again @antanddec! Rita had her coat on so she knew she was goin!!”
However, an ITV spokesperson stepped in to try and reject these claims: “This is categorically not true. All celebrities find out who is leaving the jungle when Holly and Dec announce this on the show.”
Social media reactions to the ‘fix’ claims
“Don’t watch it if ya think its a fix MOANING GETS its entertaining and I am sure some folk just sit scrutinizing everything they can about the show !! Bet you’ll all be watching it tonight though!”
“It’s quite obvious that when they are sitting waiting to be told whose going out they know already”
“It is a fix always as been done hey already know who will be king or queen of the jungle from day one”
