El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie has just dropped on Netflix.
Well done Breaking Bad fans, you’ve made it. Today is the day you’ve all been eagerly waiting for. Some of you may have even taken the day off work and if that’s the case then frankly, we salute you. This morning at 8 am, the Breaking Bad spin-off movie El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie was added to Netflix and fans around the world will finally find out what happened to Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul).
It’s El Camino day!
The events of the film take place in the aftermath of the final episode of Breaking Bad, with Jesse immediately having to come to terms with his past in order for him to forge some kind of future.
The official trailer was released last month and showed to some extent, the reality of Jesse’s situation; on the run from the law and an official suspect due to his work with his “cooking” partner, Walter White (Bryan Cranston).
Watch the trailer below:
Ever since the show ended in 2013, fans of the Breaking Bad franchise have been desperate for more from Walt and Jesse. In 2015 creator of the show, Vince Gilligan, created Better Call Saul, an origin series about the crooked criminal lawyer, Saul Goodman, starring Bob Odenkirk.
Rumours of a Breaking Bad film have been floating around for years, but it was actually Odenkirk who confirmed the news that there would finally be a follow up to the original series earlier this year.
Whilst promoting the latest series of Better Call Saul, Odenkirk said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter: “I don’t know what people know and don’t know, I find it hard to believe you don’t know it was shot. They did it. You know what I mean? How is that a secret? But it is. They’ve done an amazing job of keeping it a secret.”
Ever since then, fans of the show have been excited about the possibility of Walt and Jesse reuniting for El Camino, but Gilligan put an abrupt end to those hopes in a recent press conference by stating: “I’m gonna give you that one… Yes, Walter White is dead.”
“Walter White is dead” is still surprisingly hard to read, isn’t it?
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie has already landed on Netflix and for those of you who haven’t had time to rewatch the entire series (we thoroughly recommend that you do) then fear not, because Aaron Paul in all his greatness has handily recapped the whole of Breaking Bad for you in under three minutes. Enjoy!
