A heartwarming photo has gone viral in which a son is shown chatting to his elderly dad through a care home window during the coronavirus lockdown.
The heartfelt image was shared online and has brought tears to peoples’ eyes as it shows what lengths people will go to during the coronavirus lockdown.
Sandy Hamilton from Minnesota, US, works at a care home facility for the elderly that is currently under lockdown as public health officials advise that people practice social distancing to help slow down the spread of COVID-19.
One day during her shift, Sandy witnessed a beautiful moment between father and son, as she realised the son was chatting to his dad on the other side of the window. His son visits him every single day and despite current circumstances, has not let his dad down. Therefore, the carer decided to share it social media to highlight some positives happening in the world.
Sandy said: “My assisted living is on lockdown, so he comes every day to see his dad and they talk through the phone – sweetest thing ever”.
The photo shows an elderly man sat in an armchair in his room whilst his son sits outside, they appear to be speaking to each other over the phone.
The carer asked for consent to share the image, which has now become viral on social media and has now been shared over 240,000 times.
The photo has also garnered more than 75,000 likes and over 10,000 comments from people who were so touched by this endearing moment.
One person wrote: “So sweet!!! I hope one day someone loves me that much. What a good son!”
Another said: “Love conquers all!”
Whilst a third commented: “What a wonderful son you are! Warms my heart”.
