A passenger has attempted to storm the cockpit of a Wizz Air plane traveling from Hungary to Iceland.
The plane was forced to turn round after Norwegian South West police were notified that an intoxicated Icelandic man in his 60s attempted to gain access into the aircraft control room.
The plane landed at Stavanger Airport in the south of Norway in the early morning of Wednesday.
Norwegian South West police took to Twitter to comment on the situation: “We are moving out to Stavanger airport after reporting a person who has disembarked on a plane.
“There is control of the person on board.
“The plane has not landed yet, and we are on our way out to take care of the situation as soon as the plane is on the ground.
“The course of events is unclear.”
An hour later, there was a further update: “The plane has landed. We have taken out a male passenger in his 60’s.
“No one has been harmed. We are working to clarify what has happened.”
On arrival at Stavanger Airport, the man was arrested, with the police and fire department being on standby.
According to TV2, the man is thought to have been under the influence.
