Holly suffered an extremely embarrassing moment last week, which she bravely decided to share to her thousands of followers on her Instagram page.
The 37-year-old confessed that she had been left without her car keys that day – finding herself to be the set-up of her own rather hilarious gaffe. Due to leaving the house very early in the morning, she discovered she had picked up something other than her set of car keys.
Posting a snap on her Instagram page to reveal her dilemma, she stated that she had instead picked up a set of her son Chester’s plastic toy car keys instead of her real set – oops. There was no mistaking the keys either, as the plastic set were visibly shown to have a Pepper Pig motif on the front.
Holly who is also mum to nine-year-old Harry and seven-year-old Belle captioned the post: ”When you realise the keys you picked up this morning at 6am belong to your 3-year-old…” alongside three laughing face emojis.
Followers of Holly’s Instagram account rushed to comment on the post; many of which found the entire situation hilarious: “How funny is that.” one user wrote, while another went on to say: “Lol Holly what are u like how did u mistake them?”
However, many were very sympathetic and agreed that such things do tend to happen when you’re a busy mum: “Happens to the best of us.” one fan commented, while another chipped in: “This made me laugh, it can happen when you have kids,”
Holly makes a shocking statement regarding her career
While Holly made news with her embarrassing gaffe, she has hit the news again after she announced some disappointing career news. She announced she had made a huge decision, but claims she will now be able to spend more time with her family. The news has come as a shock to many of her fans.
Holly’s range ‘Truly’ was set to launch this coming autumn, just weeks before heading to Austrailia to present this year’s ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in replacement of Declan Donnelly’s co-star, Ant McPartlin.
The new clothing line was due to launch in the next few weeks, but Holly has announced she is dropping the brand – of which was set to rival Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop range. She had, however, denied claims of similarities between the two brands and told The Sun: “So the only things I’ve heard on This Morning about Goop, we had some sort of (female body part) steamer thing that you put on the toilet with herbs and stuff..“As yet, on our list, there (isn’t one).”
Making the big announcement of her withdrawal from the brand, Holly wrote: “After much consideration, I have made the decision to step away from Truly. To launch a brand needs total dedication and at the moment, with so many other commitments, this is not something I feel I can do without it starting to affect my family time at home. I wish Truly all the success for the future.”
Fans were saddened by the news, but many commented that her decision was a ‘strong’ move to make.
“I admire you for doing this. Thank you for introducing us to Truly and I hope this decision makes you happy because that’s all your deserve, is happiness.” one user commented on the post. Another told the presenter: “Family comes first,” while another went on to say: “Takes a strong person to do this.”
Back in March 2017, she told Hello! that her family had always come first over her career: “If I work in the afternoons than I make sure I’m home in time for bedtime. I have to do that, otherwise, I go a bit grey inside.
I love work but the most important thing is my family and making that right. If that doesn’t feel right, I really put the brake on and pull back.” The TV star added: “Even friendships will sort of go down the pecking order because it’s not as important as that really if I’m honest. If they’re true friends, they’ll always understand that. I have a group of mums who are friends and we all are on the same page.”
However just last month, Holly seemed elated by the progress of the brand’s upcoming launch, writing in an Instagram post: “Couldn’t wait to share this with you… I’ve just finished shooting the Truly range in the most beautiful location with the most wonderful team.”
Five months ago, she announced the news of her new clothing range venture to her thousands of Instagram followers: “So…finally I get to tell you about something I’ve been working on passionately and secretly for a long time… This is TRULY, my new lifestyle brand that launches in the Autumn.”
The website states: “Truly is a new lifestyle brand for you that launches later this year. It’s about beautiful things that are of the highest quality, surprisingly affordable and designed to make your life easier. The site then urges people to register “to be part of the Truly family”.
Holly clashes with Anne Widdecombe in awkward This Morning interview
Holly faced another awkward moment today after she was given a real dressing down by former politician, Anne Widdecombe – while Phillip sat beside her smirking; of course.
The discussion ventured over to the #MeToo campaign which hit headlines late last year and Holly asked Anne whether women had been ‘given a voice’ as a result of the worldwide movement: “The Me Too movement you talked about earlier, hasn’t that give women a voice, finally – one that has been suppressed for such a long time. One that needed to come out, that actually, globally has made such a huge difference?”
“No I do not believe that…” Anne replied. However, as Holly went to question Anne’s answer, she was stopped in her tracks.
“I’m about to tell you if you have the patience.” Anne hit back.“Are you auditioning for John Humphreys job or something? I once asked him if he was paid by the interruption.”
Oh dear, just slightly awkward.
Philip appeared tickled by the clash and it was evident he was trying to hide his giggles.
Anne simply claimed that the campaign had done nothing more than simply giving women the chance to ‘whinge’.
“I don’t actually think that it has achieved anything, except in the serious cases. They did need support, and that’s fine. But it has also given rise to some very trivial whinging.”
