There has been much speculation recently around suggestions that I’m A Celebrity has been fixing star exits by viewers. And Holly’s recent comments have led some to believe that they show is definitely rigged.
Fans spot inconsistencies in the show
It’s an exciting time right now watching the show with just 3 celebrities left in the Jungle. Last night saw the eviction of Fleur East, leaving Harry Redknapp, John Barrowman and Emily Atack left to battle it out for King or Queen of the Jungle. Or will they? Is the 2018 King or Queen of the Jungle already known?
Speculations around the show being rigged have not been helped by some alleged discrepancies.
During the first campmate eliminations, eagle eyed fans commented that Noel Edmunds and Malique Thompson-Dwyer were a little too prepared to leave the jungle. Had they been informed already that their time was up?
Things just don’t seem quite authentic
Looking back on the elimination, we can see that other campmates had their bags packet. Thompson-Dwyer just happened to have his coat and bag already on.
However, some viewers seem pretty convinced that the evicted celebs knew that they were on their way out and were quick to take to Twitter to air their thoughts.
Fans also claimed that Sair Khan had put make-up on and styled her hair before leaving the jungle on the day of her eviction.
Did Rita Simons know about her upcoming eviction?
I’m a Celeb viewers believe that they spotted another show fix when EastEnders Rita Simons hinted that she would be seeing her family very soon after reading a letter from home.
It has been taken that she knew that she was next up for eviction.
The 41 year actress said: “It’s so tangible that I’m about to see my family. My barriers have come down a bit and I just miss them all massively.”
Rita did not seem at all shocked or surprised when hosts Holly and Dec announced that she would be leaving the show later on in the episode.
Smiling, she said: “I’m sorry, I’m just so happy.”
She knew she was going say fans
Convinced she knew of her eviction, viewers took to twitter to air their thoughts.
“Rita knew she was leaving before they come into the camp to tell them. Stating something along the lines of “I’m about to see my family” after her letter was read out. And was then “voted” off 20 minutes later.”
Another person posted: “Well i’ll be! Its happened again @antanddec ! Rita had her coat on so she knew she was goin!!”
Someone else said: “Rita said earlier on in the show “I’ll be seeing my friends and family soon” like again is it FIXED?? She knew??”
And another show fan remarked: “RIGHT I swear Rita said she knew she was gonna see her family soon & now she’s been voted out???”
I’m a Celeb hits back at accusations
A representative for the show denied that campmates know ahead of time that they will be leaving:
“All celebrities find out who is leaving the jungle when Holly and Dec announce this on the show.” It’s also entirely up to the campmates whether they have their bags packed or not on elimination day.”
Declen Donnelly also waded in on the debate posting on social media to hit back at the speculation that Sair Khan had done her hair and makeup in preparation for her departure.
He posted: “Done her hair? You’re clutching at straws now!
Holly spills the beans
It looks like Holly Willoughby could be in hot water with the producers of I’m a Celebrity for divulging more information that she should have.
Speaking to This Morning Presenter Alison Hammond as the showbiz correspondent in Australia, Holly let slip information that could seriously suggest that the show is rigged.
Interviewing Holly about the show Alison asked if she could reveal who the I’m A Celebrity winner is going to be.
Holly replied: “I’ve written it down, it is a Queen of the jungle that is all I will say.”
While she refused to say anymore on the matter, revealing that the winner of I’m a Celeb will be a female is enough to add to the fix allegations which have been rife this year.
Will Holly ever go into the jungle as a contender?
This Morning’s Alison Hammond took part in the 2010 series of I’m a Celeb and was curious to see if Holly would go into the Jungle.
‘Watching you two in the trials, it’s like you’re doing the trial!’
Holly replied: ‘I am going through the trial Alison! That’s exactly what’s happening!’
Alison: ‘So your respect for these campmates must be so high?’
Holly said, ‘Honestly… all I keep saying [to them] is ‘I don’t know how you’re doing this, I don’t know how you’re doing this!’… the smell, I mean – you know what it’s like – you don’t realise the smells are so disgusting.
‘It stinks! It’s hard, it’s tough and they are so hungry.’
Alison said: ‘And can you believe I’ve done it? Would you do it?
Holly’s disgust and difficulty at watching the Bushtucker trials has been obvious to viewers with her often having to look away.
Alison was keen to know whether Holly herself would enter the jungle and take part in the gruesome Bushtucker trials. The 37 year old presenter made it very clear that she would not enter the jungle in her response:
“Would I ever go in? Never in a million years!”
