This is a game changer.
A few weeks ago, we brought you the news that Nando’s are now serving breakfast at two very specific locations and one of them is at Gatwick Airport. Well now there is an even bigger link between flying and the legendary chicken franchise.
We’ve all been there, the seatbelt light goes off and as soon as you can, you hand over your fresh currency in return for an overpriced baguette, coffee or beer. Well now you can treat yourself to a much needed upgrade when it comes to in-flight snacks. Yes, Nando’s have teamed up with the budget airline Jet2, to bring us an absolute game changing moment for airline snacks.
Jet2 and Nando’s have teamed up to offer not one, but two on board snacks, giving passengers and holidaymakers the chance to literally enjoy a ‘cheeky Nando’s’ whilst travelling to their destinations, but it’s not the type of Nando’s deal you may be expecting…
‘Nando’s PERi–PERi Flight Bites’ includes two snack options packed with the delicious and unmistakable taste of Nando’s: one is a dip and dunk ‘Nando’s Box’ which includes salted pita chips, hummous and a small bottle of the legendary Peri-Peri sauce, and the other, is the vegan-friendly addition of Nando’s ‘Half-Popped Corn’.
What on earth is half-popped corn, I hear you ask? Well apparently, it’s a ‘delicious snacking option where fluffy popcorn meets crunchy corn’ according the airline. To be honest, I’m still a bit confused but if Nando’s are willing to put their name to it, then I’m up for it.
Speaking about the partnership with Nando’s, CEO of Jet2 Holidays, Steve Heapy said “The addition of these two fantastic snacking options give our customers even more great choice than ever, and mean that we are the first UK airline to offer Nando’s products on our In-Flight menu. We have already made a number of exciting changes to our In-Flight menu this year, and we are sure this brand new menu will delight customers even more”.
Heapy also added “We pride ourselves on delivering the very best customer service in every area, which was recognised at the recent TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards for airlines where we won five awards, and we can’t wait for our customers to try the exciting choice on this new menu”.
And he’s not wrong when wanting to deliver the very best customer service, because as if an on-flight Nando’s option wasn’t enough, Jet2 are also placing complimentary Nando’s vouchers in selected Nando’s Boxes, entitling one person to a free Nando’s meal when back on land.
Well played, Jet2, very well played.
