What started as an internet joke has now become a concern for the military, as raiding Area 51 becomes viral.
The Area 51 mayhem all began with an event posted anonymously through Facebook, titled “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All Of Us”, which quickly spiraled out of control when over 1.4 million people said they were interested in attending the event.
Since then, social media has been swarmed with alien-related memes making it almost impossible to ignore. Even celebrities such as Miley Cyrus have joined in on the fun…

On the event page, it says; “We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them aliens.”
The organizers of the event have claimed the event was purely for humorous purposes, with there being no real intention to storm the site. Despite this statement, it appears that it has caught the attention of the military who have responded to the hype.
An Air Force spokesperson warned “Any attempt to to illegally access the area is highly discouraged.”
However, it has not been met with disapproval from everyone. With hotels in the surrounding area saying business is booming due to the increased interest in the mysterious Area 51.
Area 51 has always been a place surrounded in speculation, with the site not being officially acknowledged by the U.S. government until 2013. Based in Lincoln County, Nevada, Area 51 is a highly classified United States Air Force Facility with it’s complete purpose never fully being explained.
Due to this, conspiracy theorists have surmised that this place must have the answer to all our extraterrestrial questions, with it potentially hiding aliens or even UFO’s.
In January, an unnamed man decided to take a shot at breaking into the site by driving through a security checkpoint at Mercury, aiming for destination Area 51. This resulted in a car chase for eight miles. Exiting his car, the man decided to ignore the security’s warnings and was immediately shot dead at the scene – which is something that anyone interested in storming Area 51 should keep in mind.
With over two months to go until the supposed invasion, we shall have to sit back and see what really lies in Area 51.
