You may have been wondering what Kim Woodburn has been up to over the past few weeks after her huge bust-up with Loose Women star, Coleen Nolan. Well, you may be surprised to know that she’s gone and got herself a brand-new job. Doing what you may ask? Well, something that is right up her street we would say.
What’s the beef between Coleen and Kim?
Coleen hit the headlines last month when she announced she would be leaving Loose Women after the on-air incident; claiming that she wanted to ‘spend more time with her family’. Kim had been invited onto the ITV daytime show to make amends with Coleen, after their fall-out on Big Brother a few series previous.
However, things didn’t go as planned and Kim storming off the set almost in tears. In light of the on-air spat, Coleen was faced with serious death threats from online trolls and decided that she needed to take a step back from public appearances. As a result, Ofcom received no less than 700 complaints; with many accusing Coleen of bullying the star.
After the episode aired, Coleen’s official Twitter account posted a statement:
“Just to let everyone know – Coleen won’t be on @loosewomen on Thursday she’s decided to go home & spend time with her family instead she didn’t expect to cry on @thismorning And she’s still very upset about everything that’s happened & thanks you for your kind messages & support x” the tweet read.
Another statement was later released.
“Following the constant online bullying, trolling, and misrepresentation of her words, actions and re-actions, it is with sad regret that Coleen is taking an immediate hiatus from all her current commitments including Loose Women and postponing her Never Too Late solo concert tour.’
‘Coleen has spent 50 years in show-business and 18 years as one of the most loved members of the Loose Women panel, and has never been subjected to such a horrifying torrent of online abuse or such a heart-breaking attack on her reputation.
“Coleen is devastated to let her supporters and fans down, but is currently not strong enough to withstand this constant and unfounded online abuse, so she will be taking time out and spending it with her children and family where she feels loved and respected.”
Friend and host of Loose Women, Kaye Adams also jumped to Coleen’s defence, the day after the incident; telling the audience: “Before we get started, as some of you may be aware, Coleen is taking a bit of time out from Loose Women. We all just want to send her our love and our very best wishes.” She added: “Coleen is a brilliant Loose Woman and we really hope to see her back here very soon indeed.”
Coleen’s co-panellist, Nadia Sawalha confessed to the Daily Mail that the impact of the row had had a major effect on everyone in attendance: “The whole thing has been upsetting for everybody. Everybody’s in contact with [Coleen]. Everybody’s supporting her, and we can’t wait to have her back on the show.” She added: “Yes [Coleen’s coming back]. I don’t know [when].”
Coleen’s powerful meme
On Thursday, she made the very brave move of updating her Instagram with a meaningful quote; regarding herself making a huge life change. The words read: “Change your thoughts, transform your life”.
Fans were delighted to see the star making a comeback and many sent her warm well wishes; telling Coleen: “Hope to see you back on Loose Women soon,” while another added: “Thinking of you Col. Hoping you are feeling much better.”
So, what has Kim been up to since?
Like Coleen, the nation hasn’t heard much from How Clean is Your House Kim Woodburn star since the row, but over the past few days, news has circulated that she has bagged herself a brand-new job.
Many would argue that her new job is the perfect role for her….and we would also agree. This Christmas, Kim will be appearing as the Evil Queen in a pantomime of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Epstein Theatre, Liverpool.
This week, the 76-year-old reality star posed for photos during a photocall with her co-stars to promote the production. She will be appearing alongside Derek Acorah, Claire Simmo, Lewis Pryor and Michael Chapman.
It isn’t the first time Kim has appeared in Panto though. In 2013, she starred as the ‘Bad Fairy’ in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Southport Theatre.
She told the Liverpool Echo at the time: “I’m going to be a bad fairy this year. I’m going to be sweetness and light and naughtiness. Bad when I want to be and nice when I want to be. A fickle fairy!”
“This one is going to be wonderful,” Kim added, “because we all got on so well together and I think that makes a heck of a difference.” – makes a change, one would argue!
Here’s what people on Social Media are saying about Kim and Coleen
Jacqui Brook: “Her behaviour on Loose Women was unacceptable and as a result Coleen has given up her seat, she was visibly upset when she was interviewed. Kim is a nasty vindictive person, if she has had a hard time in life she went the wrong way about telling the viewers, I for one have no sympathy with her at all.”
Sue Grey: “Vile’ bad tempered’ nasty’ cruel bitter woman I’d say she’d make a great wicked Queen’ but why anyone would pay to see her is beyond me though, so the answer is no I wouldn’t watch Kim Woodburn in panto!”
Diana Phillips: “I must say Colleens fans can be very nasty I can see why you find Colleen faultless. . I used to like Colleen I thought she was funny till I seen through her she is very sarcastic. Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit . Just saying”
Karen Burdett: “this woman shouldnt be allowed on TV, especially not anything live, it seems her behaviour would indicate she has a screw loose and those around her should be more mindful of allowing her to make herself look like a crazy woman…. ban her from TV!”
