A kind stranger selflessly gave up their first-class airline seat for an elderly lady to make her ‘dream’ come true.
An 88-year-old woman named Violet recently shared the heartwarming story of her latest flying experience, which certainly has to be the best one yet!
Earlier this month, Violet was given the rare opportunity to sit in the first-class seating area of an airline, after a kind stranger decided to give up his seat so Violet’s ‘dream’ could come true.
After visiting her daughter in New York, a man named Jack gave up his first-class seat on a Virgin Atlantic flight so Violet could lap in luxury.
The story was shared by a Leah Amy on Facebook, who is a Manchester-based flight attendant, and she said the beautiful story was about her “two favourite passengers ever”.
Leah wrote: ‘Of the hundreds of flights I’ve operated, I’ve had the pleasure of looking after footballers, supermodels and some Hollywood movie stars, but let me tell you about my two favourite passengers EVER! Jack or Violet (I wish she was called Vera or Rose)’.
According to the post, Jack purchased a first-class ticket for himself and his family on an eight-hour flight from New York to London.
Jack met Violet at the airport and the two struck up an instant friendship. Jack then decided it would be more beneficial for Violet to have the first-class airline experience so offered to swap seats, the New Zealand Herald reported.
Leah continued in her post: ‘He then sat in the row of seats directly next to the economy toilets and never made a peep or asked for anything the rest of the flight.
‘No fuss, no attention, literally did it out of the kindness of his heart, no one asked him to’.
In both the UK and the US, Violet has served as a nurse and in recent years, likes to fly out to New York to spend time with her daughter. However, due to a knee replacement, her usual trips were postponed. But never did Violet expect her next airline experience to be so fabulous.
‘Her dream has always been to sit at the front, and Jack made that come true. You should have seen her face when I tucked her in her bed after supper. She said her daughter won’t believe her, and wanted a ‘selfie’ to prove it, but didn’t have a phone or email address. These photos are getting sent in the post tomorrow, can you even cope,’ Leah ended.
Alongside the post, Leah attached photos of Violet with the rest of the crew, enjoying her luxury experience!
There is a photo of Violet and Jack, and one of her enjoying her in-flight meal. From the look on her face, you can Violet has had an unforgettable day!
