A man has been found guilty of raping his sister, daughter and other underage girls after being inspired by a book his mother gave him about incestual relationships.
Jason Carlile, 48, reputedly sheathed his penis in a plastic kitchen wrap and then went on to rape his sister, who at the time was around 12 or 13 years old, after years of alleged taunts and molestations.
His sister took to the court in December in Wichita Falls, Texas and stated: “He said he read a book that (his mother) Joanne had given him where the brother had, had sex with his sister, and it was completely fine”.
The book that supposedly inspired Jason Carlile was Flowers in the Attic by Virginia Andrews, this was a hugely popular 1987 novel which told the story of four neglected siblings who are hidden in the attic by their own mother, and begin to have incestual relationships.
Carlile’s alleged victim claims to have never been allowed to read the book, and that she was first targetted by her brother aged just five.
Despite these allegations against her son from her own daughter, Joanne Ames – who won $10 million on the Texas State Lottery in 2018 – has stuck by her son. She has even bankrolled Carlile’s defence for $600,000 and paid his $500,000 bail.
The pervert was convicted of buying a 15-year-old girl from her mother in 2006 for $3,000, and he has a felony conviction for indecency with a child in 1994.
Carlile’s alleged victim, who is not being named to protect her privacy, said: “My brother came into the room in the middle of the night and asked to lick me between the legs.”
She said she refused but that her brother continued anyway, the Wichita Falls Times Record News reported.
Carlile’s sister also recollected on how he had once tried to pick the bathroom lock when she was bathing, and she said he told her: “he could rape me, and I couldn’t do anything about it.”
The girl claimed that he once ripped off all her clothes, but did not actually attack her that time.
She went on to recall how when she was just 11 or 12, Carlile molested her in a swimming pool.
Jurors were informed that the girl’s mother witnessed some of these events take place, and angrily ordered Carlile out of the pool, but that “nothing was said about it, ever.”
Her brother first raped her when she was 11 or 12, telling her that he wanted “‘ to be my first'”. Apparently, she also could remember the awful smell coming from Carlile’s privates during the abuse.
She said the attacks would take place when her parents were out when they attended hypnotherapy sessions. The abuse only stopped when Carlile moved out.
When she turned 18, she decided to tell her mother and stepfather about the abuse but claims they failed to do anything about it.
Carlile, who was a stay-at-home-dad, told his sister that she had never been wanted in the first place and that her mother didn’t love her.
Carlile’s daughter also testified against him, saying her father would repeatedly rape her when she was a child and would give her popsicles, promising her that it wouldn’t hurt.
She stated to the court that she continually had nightmares about him and plans to never have children as she wouldn’t want her ‘gene pool’ to continue any further.
Carlile is now serving a life sentence in prison.
