Cake giant Mr Kipling has launched a trio of pug-inspired cakes that consist of Pug Whirls, Pug Chocolate Slices and Pug Almond Flavour Mini Batts.
With three different flavours to choose from, there should be something to suit everyone’s biscuits needs.
The Pug Whirls are shortcake swirls which make a perfect light snack, filled with a chocolate flavoured filling and sauce, coming in packs of six they’ll be great to share with friends.
The Pug Chocolate Slices is made up of succulent layers of chocolate flavoured and caramel coloured sponge sandwiching, with vanilla filling. Topped with chocolate flavoured fondant icing, they’ll taste lovely with a cuppa!
In packs of five, the Mini Batts consist of moist chequered sponge cake wrapped in a soft almond flavoured paste.
Wrapped up in pug-inspired packaging, the cakes make the most adorable looking snacks that could possibly be too cute to eat.
Available at Tesco, the limited edition cakes are at the bargain price of £1 a pack… Meaning you should probably buy a few!
Brand Director for sweets treats at Premier Foods, Matthew Bird said: “Following the success we’ve had across the board on our limited-edition cakes, it is now the perfect time to launch our latest innovation – an entire pug-inspired collection – celebrating one of the UK’s most popular, eye-catching breeds of dog.
“Since returning to the UK’s TV screen last year, and undergoing new pack design, the brand has performed really well, and we understand the importance of continuing this momentum. Innovation is crucial to keep existing customers excited, and to attract new shoppers, particularly from well-known and trusted brands.”
Pugs have become a popular feature amongst bakery goods, having recently appeared in Waitrose’s range of gingerbread biscuits, this particular collection also included a llama, avocado and sloth.
