Roxanne Pallett has been at the centre of a mass media storm since accusing Ryan Thomas of physical assault during her stint in the Celebrity Big Brother House. The actress quit the Channel 5 reality TV show after breaking down in the diary room from the pressure of being booed by fans outside the house chanting ‘Get Roxy out,’ during Ben Jardine’s eviction.
Ofcom received more than 11,000 complaints over her behaviour, with many people saying Roxanne’s claims undermine and set back the work that domestic abuse charities are doing.
After a huge backlash and condemnation from the public and celebrities, Roxanne has since apologised to Ryan and his family publicly more than once. Last Monday, on Celebrity Big Brother, Emma Willis’ ‘no-nonsense’ interview with Pallett gave her the opportunity to ‘explain herself.’
‘I’m the most hated woman in Britain right now,’ says Roxanne during CBB interview
Before the interview, Roxanne was shown a video put together by the producers with all the key moments from the controversy. In the footage, Ryan was seen in a play fight with Roxanne, who appeared to laugh it off. She later got upset and went to the Diary Room to speak to the producers about the happening; Ryan was subsequently issued with a warning.
During the interview with Emma, Roxanne said of the incident: “It hurt. I can’t prove a feeling, no one can. The more I thought about it, it was heightened, and I convinced myself he did that.” She went on to say: “I’m more shocked at myself than anyone. I need to go away and think, ‘Why did I use humour?’
She went on to say: ‘I’m the most hated girl in Britain right now. It’s the title I feel everyone’s giving me at the moment and all I can do is own it, accept it, and apologise.” She went on to say:
“Everyone that I’ve affected by such an enormous reaction that could’ve been devastating for him. All I can say is I’m devastated and I’m sorry.” Earlier in the day, Roxanne appeared on the Jeremy Vine Show on Channel 5 and issued an apology for accusing Ryan of punching her.
‘She’s done it before,’ says Adela Silva
Adele Silva who played Emmerdale’s Kelly Windsor on and off from 1993 to 2011 spoke recently during an interview about Roxanne’s allegations. Speaking to Fubar radio on Thursday, the actress insists that there’s ‘no smoke without fire,’ and that Roxanne has made similar ‘exaggerated’ accusations against former colleagues.
The 37 year old actress went on to say about her former Emmerdale co-worker: ‘When someone has a reputation and they’ve been fired from different jobs or lots of people are claiming they’re been bullied or accused of different things, then it’s baffling that I think that person gets employed again and again and again. ‘And then you get to a situation like this and you think this was going to happen at some point.’
She added: ‘I think when 20 plus people speak out about a certain person and they’re probably not that vocal on Twitter anyway then… There’s no smoke without fire.’ The actress went on to say she didn’t think this would be ‘the end of it.’
Tweeting last Thursday, Adele Silva said: ‘Sometimes it takes a long long time to wait for karma or to see what someone’s really capable of – unfortunately good people get caught up in it…’
Adele’s comments aren’t the only savagery that Roxanne has received following the unpleasant affair. Celebrity comments continue to pour in admonishing the actress and she has even had her Wikipedia page hacked to say that her career ended in 2018. This may not be far off the truth…
Emmerdale star Charley Webb slams Roxanne’s apology
Charley Webb, who plays Debbie Dingle in the soap has been vocal in her scathing of her former work pal for her accusations past and present. After Roxanne’s apology, Charley ‘outed’ 35 year old Pallett saying: ‘What about all the other accusations you’ve made along the years? Backtracking because no ones on your side. If those cameras hadn’t been there, he would be finished. End of. #Roxanne
Sammy Winward has too spoken out about Roxanne’s allegations, saying that this is just ‘the latest incident that forms a pattern of behaviour.’
It’s like watching a throwback to 12 years hints Roxanne has made false accusations before

‘Roxanne accused me too’ says X Factor’s Rhydian Roberts
Roxanne Pallett has previously accused Welsh singer Rhydian Roberts by making exaggerated claims that he hurt her on a UK tour of Rocky Horror Picture Show five years ago back in 2013. A source said “Rhydian was upset by the ordeal.”
35 year old Rhydian was due to work alongside Roxanne again this year in the upcoming Chesterfield Christmas pantomime ‘Cinderella.’ He told pals he had been a victim of her exaggerated accusations too and was dreading working with her on the pantomime because he thought it could happen again. After recent events, Roxanne has since stepped down from her lead role.
He responded on Twitter: “Thanks Damien. This story has not come directly from myself. I didn’t really want to draw attention to it as I feel Roxanne has suffered enough for her actions lately and the things she accused me of are well in the past. Time is a healer. I just hope she gets the help she needs.”
Accusations to have a damaging effect on the actress’ career despite Roxanne’s apology
The 35-year-old Emmerdale actress has become a target for Celebrity Big Brother viewers and she even branded herself “the most hated woman in Britain”.
It is said that the recent allegations and suggestions that Roxanne has done this a number of times will no doubt have a damaging effect on her acting career. The soap Emmerdale has vowed not to bring Roxanne’s character Jo Sugden back ever. She quit her radio job on York-based Minster FM.
Ring free Roxanne sparks split rumours with her fiancé Lee Walton
The former CBB inmate has fuelled rumours that her engagement to Lee Walton could be off after she was spotted looking downcast without her engagement ring when she left her hotel last week. The couple became engaged last year after just a week of meeting.
Despite whether the rumours are true or not, it is safe to say that the road ahead for Roxanne is going to be a bumpy one over the next few months.
