Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have announced that they have donated $1 million to two hunger relief organisations which are on the frontline of helping the most vulnerable of populations during the coronavirus pandemic.
Lively took to Instagram to announce the news, she wrote: “Though we must be distancing ourselves to protect those who don’t have the opportunity to self-quarantine, we can stay connected. Remember the lonely and isolated. Facetime, Skype, make a video. Remember the love that can travel through all this.”
Meanwhile, Reynolds took to Twitter to announce it to his fans, he stated: “I think we can all agree, COVID-19 is an asshole.

Throughout the US, Feed America operates a network of food banks whilst Food Bank Canada does the same in Reynold’s native country.
Vice President of Major Gifts at Feeding America, Dan Nisbet, told Variety: “We are so grateful for Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s extremely generous donation, and for all of the donations we’ve been receiving.
“The Feeding America network of 200 food banks is working tirelessly to aid and provide meal assistance to our most vulnerable neighbours — children, the elderly, families struggling with food insecurity and individuals facing job disruptions — throughout our nation during this unprecedented time. Generosity like theirs will make all the difference.”
Reynolds then added to his Twitter: “Take care of your bodies and hearts. Leave room for joy. Call someone who’s isolated and might need connection.”
Lively then quipped: “Now can someone please tell Ryan that ’emotional distancing’ from his mother in law is not a thing. Nothing can save him.”
