A Canadian TikTok user has been sent to hospital after accidentally getting an entire harmonica stuck in her mouth in an attempt to entertain her little cousin.
Mollie O’Brien, who attends a high school in Ontario, was trying to entertain her little cousin when she stuffed an entire harmonica in her mouth, which filled up both of her cheeks.
Quickly, she realised she couldn’t remove the musical instrument from her mouth and whilst panicking, decided to record it on TikTok before seeking medical help.
Although Mollie had only posted two videos before this on the social media platform, the post quickly racked up 1.7 million likes and 19,700 comments.
The footage begins with a close-up image of her face with the song ‘I Just Did A Bad Thing’ by Bill Wurtz playing in the background.
She writes out the lyrics in the video, mocking herself for not thinking through her previous action.
‘I just did a bad thing,’ she wrote. ‘I regret the thing I did… And you’re wondering what it I … Well…’
She then zooms in close enough for viewers to reveal that she has put herself in a rather uncomfortable position, thanks to the harmonica wedged in her mouth.
She said: “I shoved an entire harmonica in my mouth and it’s stuck now.”
Although she wasn’t thrilled about the situation she had put herself in, Mollie could see the humorous side.
“Every time I breathed heavily out of panic, it made a noise,” she told BuzzFeed. “After 30 minutes it hurt, but then it was kinda numb.
“Honestly, it’s nature’s wonder on how that went in.”
Once Mollie realised that the harmonica was definitely stuck in her mouth, she says she immediately thought: “‘F***, my mom will kill me now.'”
Her mum took her to the hospital where a dentist then held her mouth open wide enough that the harmonica could then be removed.
Mollie recalled: “He said ‘Let’s not do this again, OK dear.”
