The Jeremy Kyle Show has today been taken off the air with all future episodes also suspended after a guest on the show died shortly after filming.
In a statement given this morning, ITV confirmed that a guest on the show had sadly passed away only a week after the filming of the episode and the broadcasters have subsequently decided to take The Jeremy Kyle Show off the air with Dickinson’s Real Deal replacing the show.
The statement read: “Everyone at ITV and The Jeremy Kyle Show is shocked and saddened at the news of the death of a participant in the show a week after the recording of the episode they featured in and our thoughts are with their family and friends,” a spokesperson said.
ITV will not screen the episode in which they featured.
“Given the seriousness of this event, ITV has also decided to suspend both filming and broadcasting of The Jeremy Kyle Show with immediate effect in order to give it time to conduct a review of this episode of the show”.
The Jeremy Kyle Show first aired way back in 2005 and became immediately known for Kyle’s explosive, no-nonsense nature and has been a staple of ITV’s lineup ever since.
Our thoughts remain with the deceased and their family.
