It was the second live show this weekend on The X Factor and viewers saw the departures of contestants Leon Mallett and TracyLeanne Jefford, who unfortunately received the fewest public votes.
The show tried to pull out all the stops this week after choosing a Latino-themed showcase. However, it turned out to be a bit of a flop as viewers were left unimpressed by the style and song choices.
Some contestants, such as the likes of Raksu and The Cut Kelvins hit the nail on the head with their performances, but other acts such as Sean and Conor Price and third evictee Leon Mallett failed to impress both the judges and public at home with their cover renditions.
TracyLeanne struggled with her modern Jennifer Lopez track, which was perhaps a little too far out of her comfort zone from her usual retro-style covers.
Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger seemed saddened by TracyLeanne’s shock departure. She said: “She is the heart of the show, she is what the show is all about and she will continue to be the heart of the show.”
However, viewers were more concerned with what was up with her accent this week – with many commenting that it sounded completely different. And it wasn’t the only thing that got under viewer’s skin this week about Nicole’s appearance…
Seemingly getting into the spirit of the Latino theme, viewers noticed that she had adopted a Spanish accent for this week only – and fans weren’t impressed in the slightest.
One Tweeter asked “Why is Nicole Scherzinger talking with a broken Spanish accent tonight?” adding: “It’s really annoying me.”

Nicole who doesn’t appear to have any Spanish routes, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and grew up in Louisville, Kentucky.
Fans were left wondering whether we’ll be seeing her take on a whole range of new accents in future weeks – or if she just has a soft spot for the Latino vibe.
Meanwhile, Nicole was also trolled for not wearing a poppy in honour of Remembrance Day during this weekend’s live shows. Many viewers labelled her decision as ‘disrespectful’, with many stating that they were ‘disgusted’ by her lack of respect.
Fellow judges Louis Walsh, Simon Cowell and Sharon Osborne all wore their poppies with pride, therefore fans were quick to ask why Nicole had failed to mark the occasion.
Many fans of the show flooded to Twitter in outrage to find out the reason.

“Anybody else noticed Nicole hasn’t got a poppy on show a bit disrespectful as all other judges have there’s on.” one tweeted.
Whilst another added: “So she’s not British, I still think that being in the public eye and being on live British TV Nicole should be wearing a poppy! #xfactor2017.”
“#SimonCowell can you nip out in the ad break and get Nicole a poppy? Badly knitted girl seems to have forgotten one!” one user tweeted.
“Such shame Nicole Scherzinger isn’t wearing a poppy on the #XFactor – it’s not like her dress doesn’t have enough holes 2put it in [sic]” another agreed.
Whilst one user added: “Why isn’t Nicole wearing a poppy???? I know she’s not British but come on ya on a British show very disrespectful I must say”.

Whilst the show rolled to adverts, someone must have had a little discussion with the Poison singer, as soon after, a sparkling poppy brooch had been pinned to her cream dress.
“Nicole’s obviously been told about the poppy” one viewer commented.
“#XFactor #NicoleScherzinger No poppy… people kick off on Twitter…. Then the poppy appears… Oh dear!” another said.
Whilst another said: “Ahh finally the production crew of @TheXFactor have given @NicoleScherzy a poppy to wear-took a while but she got there in the end ,”
A spokesperson on behalf of Nicole said the poppy had fell off as she was running to the stage. Talking to Digital Spy, they said: “Nicole’s poppy fell off her outfit on the walk to the stage.

“She was alerted during the r+ecording and put a poppy on during the break.
“Nicole has been wearing a poppy over the past week, including the Saturday show.”
Nicole also confirmed that her poppy-free dress was a complete accident, and tweeted her side of the story after the show:
‘I’m always late, it fell off running to stage and replaced it as soon we could!’. She added: ‘I have the upmost (sic) respect for everything it stands for!’

The poppy is worn as a symbol from the beginning of November onwards, until Remembrance Day as a mark of respect for those who lost their lives in World War 1. Poppies grew on the battlefields once the war had come to an end.
Whilst fans have been speculating whether Nicole will be returning to the judging panel next year, the former Pussycat Doll admits she has already been asked.
The 39-year-old states that although she’s been offered the chance to return in 2018, she hasn’t confirmed whether she’ll be accepting the gig at the current time.
Many fans were convinced that Cheryl Cole may be a more popular choice, after her return at Simon’s judges houses sparked excitement a few weeks back.
Cheryl’s X Factor experience hasn’t been all rosy over the years. She made her debut appearance as a judge on the show back in 2008 and was extremely excited when given the opportunity to appear in the US version in 2011 – but was later sacked.
She made her comeback in the UK series between 2014-2015, but decided to make a break from the show once and for all – until her unexpected return to Simon’s judges houses round this series.
Simon has already been questioned by the Daily Star about whether Cheryl will be returning in the near future. He said: “We’ll consider it. Let’s wait till the end of the show… maybe [current judges Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne] don’t want come back.
‘Let’s see what happens, I wouldn’t rule anything out.”
However, Nicole has stated that she will “most likely return”, but Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh have already agreed to participate in the 2018 series.
In an interview with OK Magazine, she said: “I’ve been asked to return and hopefully we can make it work.
“I love it so most likely I will come back. I never know what’s going to happen but The X Factor feels like family to me.’ she added.
‘The show is too much fun for me not to come back. I love this job and I love this country.”
