First look at Samuel L Jackson and Jake Gyllenhaal in the sequel that takes place after Avengers: Endgame.
Sony has just released the first trailer for its eagerly anticipated sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Tom Holland returns as Spidey and is joined by Zendaya, Jon Favreau and Jacob Batalon from Spider-Man: Homecoming which did so well at the box office when it was released back in 2017.
As the trailer shows, there are also a couple of exciting new additions to the cast with Samuel L Jackson turning up as Agent Fury and Jake Gyllenhaal who stars as super villain Mysterion, and as first looks go, Mysterion is pretty spectacular!
Spider-Man: Far From Home sees Peter and his friends embark on a European trip, and in the trailer we see Peter hanging up his suit for a few weeks, safe in the knowledge that Europe won’t need a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. Things, however, take a turn for the worse when Fury turns up and Peter is forced to fetch his Spidey costume once again.
The hype Far From Home has been getting has been huge in recent weeks, with Twitter going into meltdown with reports that the trailer was originally supposed to break a few weeks ago before Christmas at Brazil Comic-Con, but sadly, the release was pushed back. Tom Holland has even been taking matters into his own hands, with the actor using his Twitter account to keep fans in the loop of when the trailer would drop.
Another reason why the film has received so much attention is because Far From Home takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, which will leave a few of us scratching our heads, because for those of us who have seen Avengers: Infinity War, will know that Spider-Man has a fairly dusty end, but it is sure to make sense once Endgame is released later on this year.
The trailer shows Tom Holland’s Spidey is again back to his best and it’s safe to say Marvel fans around the world will agree that it is has been worth the wait, not least to see Mysterion turning up and smashing things to bits. Check it out below.
