The brand new trailer for Guy Ritchie’s latest crime comedy The Gentlemen has just been released and it looks excellent!
Fans of Guy Ritchie will be pleased to know that The Gentlemen sees the director go back to his original roots with a classic crime film that judging by the first trailer at least, looks like it’s very much cut from the same cloth as some of his previous films such as Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
According to the official synopsis, The Gentlemen “follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he’s looking to cash out of the business forever it triggers plots, schemes, bribery, and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him”.
Check out the brand new trailer for The Gentlemen below:
Great to see Hugh Grant as a gangster, isn’t it?
Matthew McCaunoghey leads a star-studded cast, including Hugh Grant, Collin Farrell, and Michelle Dockery. The film also stars Charlie Hunnam, who recently worked with Ritchie in the 2017 flop King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword, and Henry Golding, Jeremy Strong and Eddie Marsan.
Ritchie gave his 37k Twitter followers a glimpse at the film’s swanky new poster last night and today, he gave his followers their first look at the brand new trailer. As you can imagine, fans of Ritchie’s previous crime films such as RocknRolla, Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch are loving the first trailer!

The Gentlemen marks a welcome return to the action-comedy scene for Ritchie, who recently directed the smash-hit Aladdin remake, which took over a whopping $1 billion worldwide and with more than one nod to his previous films in the trailer, we think it’s great to see him back to making more British gangster films.
The Gentlemen will hit the UK and Irish cinemas on January 1st and who knows, maybe it’ll be the perfect cure for your New Years Day hangover?
