The trailer for Richard Linklater’s big screen adaption of the novel Where’d You Go, Burnadette was released last week and features a great comedic cast.
Cate Blanchett, Kristen Wiig and Judy Greer all star in the upcoming comedy-drama, based on the best-selling and award winning novel of the same name by Maria Semple.
The film follows the Branch family, Burnadette, Elgin and their daughter Bee, who after receiving a positive report card at school is told she can whatever she wants if she gets a perfect report card, and what Bee wants is a family trip to Antartica. This causes a problem for Burnadette who hates people, leaving the home and especially hates the other parents at Bee’s school. When Bernadette disappears, it’s up to Bee to find her.
As you can see by the trailer, the story has a lovely odd-ball feel to the film and with Blanchett and Wiig pairing off as two feuding neighbours, Where’d You Go, Burnadette promises to have a lot of laughs in store. Also joining the cast is Billy Cudrup, who plays Elgin, Emma Nelson, who plays Bee, and Laurence Fishbourne who has been announced in an undisclosed role. The trailer also hints at the drama that will unfold in the film as Bee takes it upon herself to find her mother.
