Christopher Nolan is back and excited cinema-goers around the world have finally had their first look at his new movie, Tenet.
Tenet has been shrouded in so much mystery ever since filming began in May, that no one really knows what to expect from the film. What we do know though is that it is an action-thriller; the genre that Nolan excels in, and is centred around the world of international espionage, and judging by the new trailer, it looks like it will have just as many mind-bending twists and turns as one of his other classics, 2010’s Inception, that starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy.
We also know that Tenet also features a very exciting cast, led by John David Washington and also starring Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Clémence Poésy.
There are also a couple of older cast-mates attached to the film, in Kenneth Branagh, who worked with Nolan on his last movie, Dunkirk, and of course, it wouldn’t be a Christopher Nolan film unless Michael Caine was involved.
Today’s first look at the trailer finally gives us all the chance to see what Nolan has been secretly crafting away on, and as you’d expect, the trailer doesn’t disappoint.
In the brand new trailer, we see John David Washington and Robert Pattinson navigating their way through the world of espionage and, by the looks of it, time travel, whilst being warned of one word… “Tenet”. There are some incredible stunts and plenty to try and get your head around. In short, it’s typical Christopher Nolan.

The trailer is really the first time that audiences have seen anything from the movie, and the eagerly awaited trailer break has been on the cards ever since the official Twitter account for the film teased its followers with a spinning video of the film’s title.

With a reported budget of a massive $220 million, Tenet is the 11th feature film that Nolan has directed and he described it as the “most ambitious film we’ve made” in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. That’s quite a statement given Christopher has been in the director’s chair for Inception, The Dark Knight Trilogy and most recently Dunkirk.
Tenet will be released in June 2020 by Warner Bros.
