For those of who you are not fans of the presenter, then I guess this might be your time to rejoice, as Piers Morgan certainly did not mince his words when he told us what he thinks about the hit TV show (somehow) Love Island, after it returned to ITV.
During Tuesday’s episode of the ITV morning show, Morgan went might as well of actually gotten a little box with the word ‘soap’ on it to stand on while he delivered his rant about the show.
He went on to call it cr*p, and shocked his co presenters Charlotte Hawkins, Susanna Reid and Alex Beresford. But, to be fair, he was live, and if he doesn’t care about being fired, it could have been a lot worse.
Susanna was quick to remind Piers that the boss of Good Morning Britain was on his way to the building, and that the presenter should remember to be on his best behaviour.
Susanna told him: “You’ve chosen this morning to inspire a complaint from Ofcom and trash one of ITV’s biggest programmes.”
And it seems as though that if Piers had a pocket full of ‘you know whats’, he would not have given one, telling the boss: “Come on then son, fire me. Take away your rock star and leave everyone with these three. For me, it’s not a difficult choice.”
Naturally, it’s Piers Morgan and then Keith Richards on top of the rock star mountain.
Susanna then told him later in the show: “The boss is in the building, he’s waiting to give you your P45.”
I wouldn’t be surprised if Piers Morgan actually thinks he is the star of the show, which probably explains why he constantly interrupts his guests, so that he can speak.
Interviewing law is that you have to control the interview, so if a guest is rambling on, don’t be afraid to interrupt them (in a fairly polite way, obviously) to keep the segment on track. But people have been quick to notice that Piers Morgan tends to just interrupt his guests pretty much constantly, which ends up spoiling the interview in the view of many.
And viewers were quick to take to social media to ask, nay, demand that Piers was actually fired from the show after he interrupted one guest too many. So maybe Piers isn’t as bullet proof as perhaps he thinks he is.
One posted: “Fire Piers!! Sack Piers! He is just disrespecting the show and the viewers in a very sad manner!! its appalling!! He is so over confident that his smug arrogance is just unappealing to watch.”
Another added: “Why would anyone in their right mind want to watch someone who just shouts over the interview.. CONSTANTLY!”
But one person however came to his defence, saying: “Piers should be on every day.”
Another added: “Well said Piers…I hate Love Island too.”
Piers Morgan has also incurred the wrath of none other than Lily Allen recently, after she took to social media to comment on the fact that Good Morning Britain had cancelled her appearance to promote her new album No Shame.
Taking to Twitter, she said; She said: “We’ve been putting together my promo schedule. The first people who asked me to come on TV were Good Morning Britain, last week.
“This morning, Good Morning Britain called up my people and said, ‘After Lily and Piers’ Twitter spat, would Lily like to cancel coming on the show?’ to which I responded, ‘No, course not. What, you think I’m scared of Piers Morgan?’
“Anyway, that message went back and I just got the news that I was cancelled, because Piers don’t want that smoke.”
Today, Piers hit back with a smarmy tweet of his own, saying: “Hi Lily, I told the team I wouldn’t interview you until or if your new album is a hit. So, probably never. Sorry to disappoint, love Piers.”
Not too many days earlier, Piers Morgan and Lily Allen got into a war of words over Twitter as the presenter slammed the singer for wearing a necklace with a little machine gun symbol on it.
Lily was quick to point out that she had been wearing it for 10 years without anyone saying anything, but Piers argued that that didn’t make it any better.
She snapped back: “I’ll stop wearing the necklace when you apologise for hacking the phones of dead children. Deal? Calling me reprehensible for wearing a necklace.”
Boom! But Piers quickly fired back to point out that she had mistaken him for someone else.
The schoolyard bickering between these two adult human beings continued for a while until Lily swung the hammer one more time.
She wrote: “If Piers Morgan actually gave a f*** about inner city youth violence, he’d spend less time provoking people like me and Raheem and more time lobbying his actual mates, who could do something about cuts to policing and youth services. Necklaces and tattoos are not the problem here.”
