The Clown Prince Of Crime is well and truly back.
The brand new trailer for Todd Phillips’ Joker has just been released and it’s fair to say; it looks excellent!
In the new and exciting trailer, we see a lot more of the origin of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, along with the beginnings of his rise to power, a glimpse into the relationship with his love interest Sophie Dumond (Zazie Beetz) and we’re even treated to two new versions of The Joker’s iconic laugh.
As you can imagine, the brand new trailer has got a lot of fans excited, with plenty of cinema-goers and DC fans alike, excited to see how Phoenix will take on the legendary villain, with some even suggesting that Phoenix should be in contention to take home an Oscar for his performance.

It wouldn’t be the first time someone has taken home an Academy Award for their performance as The Joker, as Heath Ledger famously won the award for Best Supporting Actor, posthumously, back in 2008 for his iconic portrayal in The Dark Knight.

Looks pretty good, right?
Set in 1970’s Gotham; Joker will tell the story of failed stand-up comedian, Arthur Fleck, who is driven insane and spirals into the world of crime.
As you can tell from the trailer, it looks as though director Todd Phillips has opted for a much more realistic world and version of The Clown Prince Of Crime compared to Jared Leto’s take in the disappointing Suicide Squad, which was released back in 2016.
As well as Phoenix and Beetz, Joker also stars Robert De Niro who plays talk-show host Murray Franklin and Francis Conroy who plays Fleck’s mother. Brett Cullen will also play the role of billionaire, Thomas Wayne, which means we’re also likely to see the emergence of the young Bruce Wayne as well.
Joker will hit cinemas in October, courtesy of Warner Bros.
