You can now stay in the Costa Rican rainforest surrounded by exotic wildlife, including absolutely adorable sloths!
You can now stay in one of the world’s most peaceful places with one of the most chilled out animals – sloths.
Nayara Springs and Nayara Resorts, which are sister resorts, are set in 15 acres of gardens in the Arenal Volcano National Park. This is set amongst the home of the 15 very slow, but very cute creatures.
Guests will get to feel at one with nature at the five-star establishment of wooden villas, which starts at $390 (£302) per night.
Initially, Nayara Resorts was opened as a sloth sanctuary in 2017, when there were just two sloths on the property.
However, management wanted to work on its sustainability program, which meant planting 300 cecropia trees that sloths love to feed on and from this, a sloth sanctuary was created in the rainforest canopy.
For those curious about the furry wildlife closeby, you will often see them wandering through the resorts as they glide ever so slowly from tree to tree.
You can even venture deep into the rainforest, but if don’t fancy that trip alone then you can get a complimentary walk from one of the helpful staff on site.
There are other opportunities to step up the pace a little too, such as excursions that vary from ziplining to canyoning.
Of course, sloths aren’t the only wild creatures on site. During your time at the resort, you may also spot a wide range of birds, rare species of frog, peccaries (pig-like mammals) and green iguanas.
If you love the idea of this, you will also like Thailand’s ‘Jungle Bubble’ Resort which is surrounded by rescue elephants.
