26-Year-Old Influencer Found Dead After Going Missing Over Thanksgiving

The naked body of a 26-year-old influencer has been found on the side of a Texas road after she went missing over Thanksgiving “following an argument”.

Alexis Sharkey, 26, was discovered by city workers in Houston, Texas, on Saturday after they spotted her feet by the bushes on a road. Reportedly, there were no “visible signs of injury”.

Following the devastating discovery, the police tweeted: “HPD Homicide Detectives are on the scene of a woman found deceased on the side of the road in the 1000 Block of Red Haw Lane.”

Officers say that they believe the influencer’s death wasn’t natural and that her body was likely placed there overnight, reports KVUE. So far, the cause of death is unknown as the autopsy is pending.

Since Black Friday, Alexis hadn’t been heard from.

Stacey Robinault, her mother, told Click 2 Houston that she “had an argument” shortly before she disappeared, yet it’s not clear who the disagreement was with. It is believed that she didn’t take her car before going missing.

Alexis’ husband Tom, 49, has paid tribute to his wife after the heartbreaking news has been confirmed. He called her “the most amazing woman”. Just last year the couple got married in December and they moved to Houston the following month.

Tom posted photos of his late wife in her wedding dress, adding: “Never seen or felt such beauty! You are my world! You made life so incredible! Made sense of my existence! My purpose! And showed me how to truly love!”

Before disappearing, Alexis had been discussing Christmas plans with her daughter. The influencer had over 24,000 Instagram followers, regularly shared what was happening in her daily life and lately went on a trip to Mexico, which she shared with fans too.

Her mother confirmed her death, stating: “It’s with deeply broken hearts that Mike and I want to let you all know that Lexi’s body has been found. We cannot begin to thank you all for your love and the kind words you’ve extended to our family!”

Before her body was found, Robinault, who lives in Pennsylvania, had said: “[Thanksgiving] was a busy day on her end and our end and so it was just one of those passing, type of ‘Love you’ things’.

“Then Friday … honestly, Friday got away. [It was a] busy day. We never talked, and then she went missing Friday night and I have not seen her or heard from her since.”

According to friends, the last time they heard from Alexis was at 6 pm and as of then, her calls have gone to voicemail.

Her mother continued: “They’ve [her friends] never known her to disappear and I’ve never known her to not communicate when we reach out to her … ever. She always has her phone with her. She always responds.”

When Alexis originally went missing, the Facebook post confirming her disappearance was shared thousands of times. Robinault had written: “Please share this post!!! My daughter, Alexis Sharkey, is missing!! No one has heard from her for over 24 hours and the police are involved.

“She has lived in Houston Texas since January and that was where she was last seen. Please help us find her and bring her home safely!! We are so very desperate!!! Please share!!”
