50 Cent has been slammed for making an ‘insensitive’ joke about Michael K Williams’ death.

On September 6, it was reported that The Wire actor had died due to a suspected overdose in his Brooklyn penthouse.

After hearing the tragic news, the rapper took to Instagram and reportedly said: “Damn it you didn’t see Raising Kanan, check it out that fentanyl is no joke, killing the clientele. R.I.P Micheal K Williams.”

Raising Kanan is the prequel to the hit show Power which the rapper starred in and co-produced.

He then took to Twitter and shared a screenshot of a New York Post article announcing Williams’ death.

He wrote alongside it: “New caption alert. Hey Jimmy, ya man OD’ed.”

Reportedly, the 46-year-old also included a ton of laughing emojis.

Many people were left outraged by his comments and said they were completely ‘inappropriate’.

One person ranted: “You need your ass kicked for disrespecting Michael Williams. Never mind wtf he did or how he did it you are wrong. Have some respect for his family.”

Another added: “50 Cent is my favourite rapper ever, but this is disrespectful as hell and corny. He is a b**** for that. RIP Michael Williams.”

“50 Cent’s IG caption about Michael Williams is gonna get him cooked today,” a third said.

Joining in, a fourth said: “50 Cent says a lot of dumb s*** but this is the dumbest. Ever. Using Michael K Williams’ death to promote your own show is so insensitive and stupid. This wasn’t about ‘bringing awareness’. Shaking my head.”
