Britain’s ‘Best Roast Dinner’ Is Said To Be So Good There’s A Three-Year Waiting List At Pub

A pub in Britain is said to have a roast dinner which is so good that there’s now a three-year waiting list for the bargain £9.99 meal.

A pub in Bristol supposedly has Britain’s “best Sunday roast” and as so many are eager to see whether or not this is true, there’s currently a three-year waiting list to try it.

At The Bank Tavern in Bristol, people who are considering booking one of the seven tables will be disappointed to know that they won’t be able to get to try the famous Sunday roast until April 2023 – by this time the coronavirus restrictions will have hopefully eased.

The Observer Food Monthly Award dubbed the £9.99 roast dinner as the best in Britain. Alongside this, the pub also won the Bristol Good Food Award in 2018.

As there are only around 160 Sunday roasts cooked at the pub each week, it’s going to be a quite a long time before many get to try it for themselves.

A spokesman told The Sun: “We’re fully booked until April 2023. There is nothing standard about our Sunday roasts.”

The Sunday roast, which is made from locally-sourced food, consists of either beef, pork, chicken or a veggie option, alongside roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, swede, creamy leeks and seasonal vegetables.

To make it even more of a bargain, you can have three courses for just £14.95.

Landlord Sam said: “We don’t repeat the same menu and although we always have beef we also do pork, some vegetarian options and perhaps venison or poultry.

“We change the starters and desserts weekly so the menu is never the same.”

While the meat comes from West Country farms, the landlord said that he often serves up local deer and rabbit too.

Meanwhile, regulars of the pub are known to pop in and hand any spare vegetables from produce grown in their allotments.

During the lockdown, the pub made the most of the food and didn’t let it wither away. Instead, they provided hundreds of takeaway meals.
