A pregnant teen has been found murdered in South Africa. She failed to return home after heading out to meet her boyfriend.
Snegugu Linda, who lived in Hammersdale in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa, was found murdered with her heart and intestines ripped out on a pathway after leaving home to visit her boyfriend.
The 19-year-old told her family that she would be returning home on November 15. Yet the alarm was raised when she failed to do so.
According to police, the pregnant teenager’s organs were found next to her. She also suffered from stab wounds to her back and stomach.
Londiwe Linda, 33, Snegugu’s mother, has been left devastated by her death. She has revealed that her daughter’s mouth was covered by a doek, a cloth traditionally used as for a head covering.
“She was thrown there. Nothing says she was killed there,” she told local newspaper IOL.
“Snegugu was still young and had more to do in life than die like this. We want to know who did this.”
Her mother also said that the last time she saw Snegugu alive she had had a stab wound on her hand.
Before she could out any information, her daughter left the house.
Leading the investigation is Captain Nqobile Gwale, who says that the motive of the crime has yet to be uncovered.
Sibusiso Hlela, her boyfriend, said that his partner had left on Saturday afternoon and was meant to be visiting a friend. Yet she failed to return that evening.
At 5.30 am, he went out to go and search for her but was informed of her murder.
He claims that the wound on Snegugu’s hand was caused as she hurt herself.
A murder investigation has been launched but there haven’t been any arrests made so far.
