Aldi Has Launched A Giant Ferrero Rocher Frozen Dessert – Ready For Christmas!

Aldi has begun to tease dessert lovers with the treats it has in store for Christmas time, including a giant Ferrero Rocher frozen dessert.

As a  part of Aldi’s Christmas 2020 range, the German supermarket chain has launched a dome-shaped inspired chocolate truffle dessert in time for the most wonderful time of the year.

The ‘Specially Selected Chocolate and Praline Dome’ will be landing in Aldi stores from October 26 and will exclusively be sold throughout the festive period.

Filled with milk chocolate, hazelnut mousse and milk chocolate feuilletine – a crispy flake which is made from pancakes – the dome is a sponge cake which is coated in a rich chocolate shell.

It is recommended by the supermarket chain that you defrost the truffle dessert for at least an hour before serving to guests.

Alongside the Ferrero Rocher-inspired dessert, Aldi’s Christmas 2020 range will also include a chocolate and salted caramel layered bar, as a part of its desserts.

The bar is made from dark chocolate and hazelnut mousse and has a praline feuilletine. The salted butter caramel mousse is covered with chocolate biscuit and a dark chocolate shell.

Both desserts are made by a supplier in France, with the nutty dome costing you £4.99 for 500g, making it slightly cheaper than Tesco’s chocolate orange and maple bauble cake which would set you back £13 for 1.08kg.

An Aldi spokesperson told The Grocer: “No one knows exactly how the situation will have changed by December but one thing we’re sure of is that Christmas won’t be cancelled.

“What we’re going through now and have been through, means people are going to be even more focused on celebrating with their household, sharing food and drink and gifts with their families, and that’s where Aldi comes in.”
