Alec Baldwin has broken his silence after the heartbreaking death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of his new film Rust.
The Hollywood actor allegedly ‘discharged a prop gun on set’ which hit the 42-year-old. Despite being flown out of the hospital, she tragically passed away.
Baldwin has now posted a statement on Twitter saying there are ‘no words’ to express his shock and sadness.

He penned: “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother, and deeply admired colleague of ours.
“I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family.
“My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”
According to the AFP news agency, ‘no charges have been filed or arrests made’.
Santa Fe Sheriff spokesman, Juan Riots, stated: “Mr Baldwin was interviewed by detectives.
“He provided statements and answered their questions. He came in voluntarily and he left the building after he finished his interviews.
“No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.”
The crew is said to have been left ‘devastated’ by Hutchins’ passing and have sent their condolences to her loved ones.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, a representative commented: “The entire cast and crew has been absolutely devastated by today’s tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Halyna’s family and loved ones.
“We have halted production on the film for an undetermined period of time and are fully cooperating with the Santa Fe Police Department’s investigation.”
