Amber Heard has explained why she had to ‘fight really hard’ to keep her role in Aquaman 2 following her divorce from Johnny Depp.

The actress has claimed that she ‘lost opportunities’ and got ‘dropped’ from jobs after her restraining order against the Pirates of the Caribbean star was filed.

According to Entertainment Weekly, she has alleged: “I had to fight really hard to keep my career after I got my [restraining order against Depp].

“I lost opportunities. I got dropped from jobs and campaigns. I fought to keep my job and the biggest movie opportunity I had to date [with] Justice League with the option to [star in] Aquaman. I had to fight really hard to stay in Justice League because that was the time of the divorce.”

According to the star, she had a contract with DC and Warner Bros. that involved a three-film option. This would end up being Justice League, Aquaman and Aquaman 2. However, in the latter, she claimed that ‘a bunch’ of her part was pared down.

The 36-year-old went on to alleged that she was given ‘new versions’ of her script for the role.

She testified: “I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoiler aways, two characters fighting with one another, and they basically took a bunch out of my role.

“They just removed a bunch out.”

Amid the defamation trial, an Aquaman petition is circulating, in which it calls for the removal of Heard.

Currently, it has amassed over four million signatures.
