The top 100 baby names of 2022 have been revealed and some once popular entries are nowhere to be found.

BabyCentre UK has released the annual list which shows Muhamed has remained in first place for the sixth year running when it comes to the boys. Lily, however, has officially replaced Olivia, when it comes to the girls.

The name Amber has dropped off completely, despite being ranked 89 in last year’s chart.

Some fans believe this could be down to Amber Heard’s high-profile defamation case against her ex-husband and Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny Depp.

The latter has not fared much better as it has not made the list at all for the second year in a row.

It looks like another highly-publicised trial, dubbed ‘Wagatha Christie,’ which involved Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy, may have also impacted the top 100.

Both of their names make no appearance in the list, along with Wayne which is also missing.

Meanwhile, The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee seems to have had a positive impact on the ranking, with the name Elizabeth climbing from 86 to 84.

Prince William and Princess Charlotte have also benefited from the historic celebration as they have both risen in the chart, while Harry sits at number 12 and George is still firmly in the top 10 for the boys.

However, the names Kate, Meghan, and Catherine have not seen any benefits and are nowhere to be seen.

There have been plenty of new and surprisingly popular entries on the list for both boys and girls.

On the boy’s list, Zion (ranked 95) and Elliot (ranked 62) have both broken into the top 100 for the first time, while on the girl’s list, Maddison (ranked 59) and Raya (ranked 92) have made an appearance.
