Amber Heard has recalled meeting billionaire Elon Musk at the 2016 Met Gala after ex-husband Johnny Depp ‘stood her up’.
The 36-year-old took to the stand in the defamation trial on May 17 and opened up about the red carpet event, where she ended up chatting with the Tesla founder.
She said: “I was standing in line right in front of a gentleman. It was Elon.

“I didn’t recognise him at first. We started talking and he had reminded me that we had met once before.”
Heard went on to say that after this encounter, they ended up forming a friendship.
The actress recalled: “He seemed like a real gentleman. He was really nice. He sat at a nearby table and we got to speaking that night and then eventually became friends.”
According to Heard, she was meant to attend the event with her husband at the time, as they were guests of Ralph Lauren.
However, she claimed that it happened to be taking place shortly after her 30th birthday, when she alleged that she was ‘attacked’ by Depp.

The Aquaman star claimed that at this time, she didn’t have a phone, as the actor had ‘thrown it out of the window’. This meant that she was unable to find out from him whether he would be attending the event alongside her.
“I wasn’t sure what was going on or when he would show up or if he would show up,” she recalled. “I had no way of knowing.”
When at the event and seeing Depp wasn’t there, Heard said she ‘sat next to an empty place setting for Johnny’.
It’s believed that the actress dated Musk on and off between 2016 and 2018.
