Amber Heard has made a shock move days before she’s set to testify against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, in his defamation trial against her.

According to the New York Post, the actress ditched crisis PR team Precision Strategies on April 28 due to the ‘bad headlines’ she’s received throughout the high-profile case.

The publication claims that one source said that Heard is ‘frustrated with her story not being told effectively,’ while another reportedly added ‘she doesn’t like bad headlines’.

The news outlet reports that the Aquaman star has switched to consulting firm Shane Communications on retainer. They will apparently try to get her side of the story to come across better.

The new PR team, which is believed to be run by CEO David Shane, has reportedly worked against Depp in the past.

According to reports, the company helped highlight allegations against the 58-year-old when complaints were apparently filed against him by former business managers at The Management Group.

At the time, they reportedly claimed that Depp had a ‘compulsive spending’ habit of $2million per month.

Despite the fact Heard has made the move to boost her image in the public eye, PR insiders have apparently warned that she has a difficult battle ahead of her.

A crisis management PR source is believed to have told the New York Post: “After years of narrative building, you can’t change the public’s opinion in the three weeks when someone is suing you in a case.”

Heard is being sued for $50million by the Pirates of the Caribbean star after she wrote a piece for The Washington Post back in 2018. Depp has argued that he was made out to be an abuser in the essay, despite not being directly named.
