Amber Heard’s lawyers want her defamation result against Johnny Depp to be investigated as they believe that a member of the jury ‘used a false identity’.

Depp won the high-profile defamation case last month, where he successfully sued the actress for an op-ed she wrote about him in 2018. However, her lawyers are now demanding a retrial.

In a 43-page document, her legal team has argued that one member of the jury has lied about their date of birth, to which they state: “The court should investigate whether Juror 15 properly served on duty.

“On the juror panel list presented to the court, Juror 15 had a birth year of 1945. Juror 15, however, was clearly born after 1945.

“This discrepancy raises the question whether Juror 15 actually received a summons for jury duty and was properly vetted by the Court to serve on the jury.”

The two-month-long trial concluded with both Heard and Depp found to have defamed each other. However, Heard was only awarded $2million in damages while Depp was awarded $15 million in damages.

Amber Heard Claims She ‘Still Loves’ Johnny Depp

It was later revealed that the Aquaman star was unable to pay the damages to her ex-husband.

In the document, Heard’s lawyers claim that the final fee was unwarranted. They go on to argue that he only deserved to be given reputational damages.

It states: “The jury’s verdict was obviously influenced by Mr Depp’s pleas.

“Here, the jury’s determination of $10million in compensatory damages is excessive as a matter of law, as there is no evidence to support this verdict.”

This echoes a similar statement made by the 36-year-old actress, who in a sit-down interview said that he is a ‘fantastic’ actor who people feel that they know.
