Teen Mom star Amber Portwood has broken her silence on ‘losing custody of her four-year-old son, James’.
According to court documents obtained by The Sun, the American TV personality’s ex, Andrew Glennon, will be granted sole legal and primary physical custody of their child.
Following the decision, Portwood, who also shares 13-year-old daughter Leah with her ex Gary Shirley, told E! News: “A person should have the chance to redeem themselves and not be tethered to their problems from the past.

“I’ll never stop fighting for my children who I love more than anything.”
Glennon also told the publication: “We endured the nightmare. Now we get to live the dream.”
Reportedly, he will be allowed to move their son from Indiana – where Portwood resides – to his home state of California, where he apparently shares a home with his mum.
It’s believed Glennon currently lives in an Indiana property owned by his ex.
The case began back in 2019 when the pair split after Portwood was allegedly arrested for domestic violence against him.
Glennon was first granted primary physical custody of their son at this time and since then, it’s believed James has not had an overnight visit with his mother, which will apparently change under the new custody arrangement.
Reportedly, the court has now ruled that Glennon must get the 32-year-old’s approval when it comes to ‘major decisions’ regarding their son’s medical treatment, education and religion.
However, the four-year-old will be allowed to ‘relocate to his father’s home’.
Portwood appeared on 16 & Pregnant in 2009, which followed her pregnancy with her first child. She went on to appear in four seasons of Teen Mom between 2009 and 2012.
The American then appeared in Teen Mom OG and in November 2021, the ninth season was wrapped up.
