Amy Schumer was forced to change her son’s name after realising it sounded very rude.
The comedian, 41, shot to fame after her successful Comedy Central sketch series Inside Amy Schumer – which saw her win an Emmy and land five nominations.
She also starred in and wrote the Golden Globe-nominated film Trainwreck.
Schumer has been married to her husband Chris Fischer since 2018 and shortly after, they welcomed their baby son.

However, they were forced into changing his name after being made aware of how naughty it sounded.
They called their son Gene Attell Fischer, with his middle name being a tribute to their comic friend Dave Attell.
While it is pretty significant to honour someone you are close to by including their name in your child’s name, it seems Schumer and her husband were unaware of what it sounds like.
Fans were very quick to point out that the combination of their son’s first and middle name sounds very similar to the term used to describe your private parts.

Speaking on her podcast Three Girls, One Keith – which she hosts alongside her friends Bridget Everett, Rachel Feinstein, and Keith Robinson – Schumer revealed that she and her partner have changed their child’s name.
The Bros actress said: “Do you guys know that Gene, our baby’s name, is officially changed? It’s now Gene David Fischer.
“It was Gene Attell Fischer, but we realised that we, by accident, named our son ‘genital’.”
Claudia O’Doherty – who appeared in Trainwreck with Schumer – was a guest on the podcast and she added: “My mum pointed that out to me, actually.
“My mum was like, ‘Amy’s called her son genital’, and she was right.”
It turns out though that everything happens for a reason as her son’s new middle name, David, is still the first name of their friend so they are still paying tribute to him.
It is also her father’s middle name – Gordon David Schumer – so that is a nice touch.

The comedian has also shared that her son has a number of talents, including one that would be very beneficial for any parent.
While appearing on the Today show, Schumer brought her son to be a part of the interview and claimed that he can call for a taxi.
She said: “He can hail a taxi. You don’t believe me, right? But he can.
“He only says a couple of words. But that guy, if you need a taxi, he can hail you one.”
Schumer’s son then appeared on screen and she asked him if he can call for a cab.
The toddler gleefully smiled and raised his arm high up into the air.
