Angus Cloud’s cause of death has been disclosed.

Angus Cloud, whose real name was Conor Angus Cloud Hickey, was a prominent American actor who played Fezco ‘Fez’ O’Neil in the hit HBO TV series Euphoria.

The 25-year-old also made appearances in independent films such as North Hollywood and The Line.

News of Cloud’s passing broke on Monday, July 31, as the actor was declared dead at his home in Oakland, California.

In a statement to People magazine at the time, Cloud’s family said: “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,”

“As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”

The statement went on to mention that Cloud’s father had passed away the week before and that the actor had ‘intensely struggled with this loss’.

“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” it continued.

“Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence. We hope the world remembers him for his humour, laughter and love for everyone.”

Following Cloud’s passing, his mother Lisa took to social media and updated fans, stating that her son did not commit suicide.

She said: “Friends, I want you all to know I appreciate your love for my family at this shattered time.

“I also want you to know that although my son was in deep grief about his father’s untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was a joyful one.”

Lisa went on to say that Cloud had been spending his last day reorganising his room, as he intended to stay at his childhood home for a while.

She continued: “He did not intend to end his life.

“When we hugged goodnight we said how much we loved each other and he said he would see me in the morning.

“I don’t know if or what he may have put in his body after that. I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art projects, fell asleep and didn’t wake up.

“We may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically, but it’s abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world. His struggles were real.”

It has since been confirmed by People magazine that Cloud died of acute intoxication resulting from an accidental overdose, according to the Alameda County Coroner.

At the time of his death, the actor reportedly had traces of cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and benzodiazepines (depressant medications commonly prescribed for conditions like anxiety disorders, insomnia, and seizures) in his system.
