Anti-vaxxers have slammed Krispy Kreme for giving out free doughnuts to people who have had the COVID-19 vaccine.
The popular chain recently announced it would be dishing out Original Glazed doughnuts to anyone in the US who shows their vaccine card in-store or at the drive-thru.
A spokesperson said: “We all want to get COVID-19 behind us as fast as possible and we want to support everyone doing their part to make the country safe by getting vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available to them.”
However, those who are against the jab have slammed the move, arguing it’s ‘indoctrination’.
One person vented: “Looks like you are part of the indoctrination of American citizens.
“If we’re good and follow along we get presents.
“Soon we can get all kinds of free stuff if we go along with getting microchipped too.
“Is that how it’s going to work?”
Another asked: “Hey I took my vitamin C and Zinc as preventative. Do I get a free doughnut for doing my part as well?”
“Would you like the unvaccinated to wear a yellow star on their chest? You’ve decided to stray into an area that has nothing to do with your actual business. So I’d like to know how far you’re willing to go,” a third wrote.
Others are arguing that this is not an unusual move for the company, as it’s had similar promotions in the past.
Previously, it has offered free doughnuts for babies born on the last Leap Day of the year.
