Gender-Neutral Emojis Will Soon Be Available On Apple

Gender-neutral emojis will soon be available to use on Apple.

A whopping 217 new icons have been created and updates have been also been made to old favourites to make them feel more inclusive.

Apple joined forces with the American Council of the Blind, the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, and the National Association of the Deaf to ensure they got them right.

When it comes to the gender-neutral options, there is a person with a beard which comes in all different skin tones and with different hair length.

Emojis have become a staple in pop culture over the years, however, if you’re a fan of the crying laughing face, you might want to chill out using it as it means your officially ‘old’.

According to Zoomers (aka Gen Z – born between the mid-1990s and the late 2010s), the icon is officially ‘cringeworthy’ and ‘for old people’.

Recently, a blog post on Emojipedia appeared to confirm this.

It said: “It’s common wisdom on TikTok that the laughing crying emoji is for boomers. And by boomers, I mean anyone over the age of 35.”

Likewise, Walid Mohammed, 21, told CNN: “I stopped using it a while ago because I saw older people using it, like my mum, my older siblings and just older people in general.”

I feel personally attacked.
