Asda is selling a giant chocolate and caramel éclair which serves 10 people, as a part of its delicious Christmas 2020 dessert range.
The drool-worthy new dessert was originally spotted on the Facebook page Money Savers Online, where people in the comments were keen to know how much the giant chocolate and caramel éclair was priced at.
According to the supermarket’s serving suggestions, it says that the foot-long pastry should be able to feed up to 10 people – unless you’re incredibly generous with portion sizes.
One person said: “Not a chance would that do 10 people”.
Another joked: “Lol 10… that won’t even feed one.”
It was eventually confirmed that the cream-filled choux finger will cost you £6 and will available to put in your trolley on December 17, both in-store and online.
In case you haven’t worked this out, it means it costs just 60p per serving (if you have the recommended amount).
If you were to purchase Asda’s regular éclairs, it would cost you 79p for two. This means you could buy seven packs for £5.53 instead – and it would mean 14 standard size éclairs in total.
Filled with chocolate mousse and caramel sauce, the éclair is coated in chocolate fondant with caramel flavoured fudge icing, alongside a sprinkling of golden dust.
If you’re not keen on eclairs, then Asda has plenty of other dessert options for the festive period. From a gingerbread cheesecake to a vegan Christmas cottage, there’s something for everyone.
