An Astroworld victim, named Bharti Shahani, has been declared ‘brain dead’ from an ‘injury’ she acquired at the festival, according to reports.

The 22-year-old student, who attended the Houston concert where eight people lost their lives on Friday, is believed to have been given a low chance of survival after being placed on a ventilator, reports ABC13.

Shahani’s father, Sunny, told the outlet: “The doctors, they say the chances of survival are nothing, which I have not even spoken to my wife until now.

“We keep saying we’ll pray. I request all of Houston to pray for her. Maybe the prayers might work as a miracle for her.”

Reportedly, the economics systems engineering student went to Scott’s concert with her sister, Namrata Shahani, and their cousin, Mohit Bellani.

It’s believed that she became separated from the others during the crowd surge.

Recalling the tragic incident, Bellani said: “Once one person fell, people started toppling like dominos. It was like a sinkhole. People were falling on top of each other.

“There were like layers of bodies on the ground, like two people thick. We were fighting to come up to the top and breathe to stay alive.”

As the pair lost their phones, they were unable to contact Shahani and locate her during the chaos.

Her sister said: “Once we let go of her hand, the next time we saw her, we were in the ER.”

When Shahani’s parents arrived at the hospital, they were reportedly told that their daughter had ‘suffered multiple heart attacks’.

Opening up about the moment they saw her on the ventilator, her father said: “They took us to her room, and she was bleeding and on a ventilator. Me and my wife were too shocked. We can’t even stand in there.”

Bharti Shahani was set to graduate in the spring and had already managed to get a summer internship. Her father claimed the 22-year-old had planned to eventually take over the family business.
