But what else is there to know about Baba Vanga? Let’s explore the blind mystic’s life, from where she was born to how she began making predictions:

What was Baba Vanga’s real name?

The blind mystic’s real name was Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova (née Surcheva)

She was reportedly a premature baby and suffered from health complications. Local tradition dictated that infants weren’t given a name until it was deemed likely they would survive.

The psychic was from Bulgaria, which is a country in the Balkans. She reportedly spent most of her life in the Rupite area of the Belasica mountains.

When did Baba Vanga begin making predictions?

According to the psychic, it all began when a ‘tornado’ allegedly lifted her into the air and threw her into a nearby field.

After a long search, Baba Vanga was reportedly found and she was described as looking frightened.

Her eyes were apparently covered in sand and dust and she was unable to open them because of the pain.

When did Baba Vanga die?

The blind mystic died on August 11, 1996, from breast cancer, according to multiple reports.

Her funeral apparently attracted a large crowd.
