Bake Off presenter Cal Wilson has died aged 53.
The stand-up comedian was a regular on the comedy circuit – and even had her own Netflix special.
She also made appearances in TV programmes such as Would I Lie To You?, Good News Week and hosted The Great Australian Bake Off.
Sadly, it has now been confirmed that the beloved comic has passed away.

Pitch Perfect actress Rebel Wilson pens: “This is so tragic and my heart goes out to Cal’s family. I was very very lucky to work with Cal on multiple projects, especially over the last few years where she wrote brilliant material for me. She was amazingly talented and amazingly kind.”
The Last Leg host Adam Hills writes: “The news of Cal’s death has broken me slightly but the outpouring of love for her has been so heartwarming.
“She was one of life’s best people and she made everyone happy. Everyone. Off stage and on. That’s how you live a life. May her spirit live on. Love ya Calbo.”
Comedian Urzila Carlson adds: My heart is broken for her family and for everyone that has ever met her because she was amazing.
“Today is a terrible day.”

In a statement shared by Wilson’s management Token Artists, it was announced that the comedian passed following a ‘short illness’.
It reads: “We are devastated to share the news that Cal Wilson, the much-loved stand-up comedian, writer and actor died today, surrounded by family and friends after a short illness at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. She was 53 years old.”
The news was also shared on her Instagram page, which says she died with her friends and family by her side.
“Cal was loved by her family, friends, fans and peers and a huge hole has been torn in the heart of our community,” it adds.
Wilson is survived by her husband Chris Woods and their son Digby.

Speaking to the Australian news programme The Project, her Bake Off co-host Natalie Tran described Wilson as a ‘cheerleader for every single person’.
She says (via The Independent): “Cal was like working with a Santa Claus who didn’t care about whether you were naughty or nice. You got presents either way.
“I wouldn’t be able to carry all of the presents she’s given me over the time I’ve known her. Every day, she was like a cheerleader for every single person.”
Along with a prominent stand-up career, Wilson also published two children’s books, ‘George and the Great Brain Swappery’ and ‘George and the Great Bum Stampede’.
Throughout the pandemic, she would bring joy to her followers by making and wearing extravagant headwear.
“Making ridiculous headdresses… kept me sane,” Wilson told The Guardian.
