Baked Feta Pasta Recipe Goes Viral On TikTok

A baked feta pasta recipe is going viral on TikTok and it looks incredible.

When Finnish food blogger Jenni Häyrinen created ‘Uunifetapasta’ – meaning oven-baked pasta – back in 2019, she had no idea it would become some popular on the social media platform.

Her original post, which now has over three million views, even led to some shops running out of feta!

Talking to TODAY Food, she said: “Immediately after it was shown in my Instagram stories, I noticed followers’ strong reaction to it. The stores actually ran out of feta cheese here.

“#Uunifetapasta was awarded as the phenomenon of the year in 2019 in Finland. I’m not surprised it’s going viral elsewhere too, I know it has the potential to do so.”

To make the dish, all you need to do is add some olive oil to the bottom of a pan then place a block of feta in the centre, making sure it’s surrounded by tomatoes.

So that it’s full of flavour, toss in some garlic, red chillies, salt and pepper.

Next, roast the whole thing for 15 minutes at 400F. Then turn it up to 440F and roast it until your cheese starts turning a lovely golden-brown colour.

Häyrinen suggests that you then finish the roasting process by putting it under the broiler for a few minutes.

In her blog, she noted: “This might cause the fire alarm to go off, mine does that every time.”

You’ve been warned!
