Beat The Chasers fans have blasted Mark Labbett, otherwise known as ‘The Beast,’ over a ‘creepy’ comment he made about guest Carol Vorderman.

It all started when The Chaser took to Twitter after the programme aired and said: “I don’t know what is more impressive about @carolvorders, her intellect or her more tangible assets #superstar #BeatTheChasers.”

The tweet accumulated 200 likes, however, many of his followers took to the social media platform and said it was ‘inappropriate’ of him.

One person responded: “Really? This is 2022, not 1972! A bit creepy and sexist.”

In agreement, another added: “Bit inappropriate.”

“Such a creepy tweet!” a third follower wrote.

However, not everyone thought Labbett’s tweet was ‘sexist,’ and many even defended the quizzer.

In his defence, one Twitter user penned: “It’s 2022 you’d think people would know what a joke was! If she was offended then she’d have addressed it rather than take it as a joke.

“When did everyone become snowflakes and get offended at everything and try to cancel people?

“I’m offended at snowflakes. Can I cancel them?”

Pitching in, a second questioned the haters, asking: “Why? Mark is attracted to a good looking woman. Nothing weird about that.”

In the episode Vorderman starred in, she competed against Chasers Labbett, Jenny Ryan and Anne Hegerty.

Many fans of the former Countdown presenter were convinced she would be able to beat her opponents. However, she managed to bag just £1,000 for her charity.

Afterwards, Vorderman admitted to presenter Bradley Walsh how gutted she was about how it all turned out.

The Cambridge graduate said: “I can’t believe that I cannot believe it. I just hit those four, and I just couldn’t…

“Oh, man.”
