Billionaire actress Zhao Wei has been erased from China’s history, according to reports.

The star is the latest victim of the Chinese Communist Party who is attempting to eradicate celebrities and the rich.

It’s believed the A-lister originally annoyed the political party back in 2016 when she hired a Taiwanese actor to play a lead role in a film.

Not long after, Wei’s business investments began to be pulled apart due to ‘taxation’.

Global Times, a news outlet that is controlled by the party, then accused the actress of being ‘entangled in various scandals over the years’.

A piece from the publication read: “Aside from her celebrity identity, Zhao was also widely known as a billionaire investor surrounded with lawsuits.

“As early as 2001, Zhao received an overload of criticism for publicly wearing a dress featuring a Japanese military flag …

“Zhao’s removal from video platforms comes two weeks after actor Zhang Zhehan … had all of his accounts and works banned on various social media platforms including Weibo, after posing at Japan’s notorious Yasukuni Shrine, sparking wide outrage.”

China Is Limiting Minors To Just Three Hours A Week On Video Games

Any mention of Wei has officially been removed from all major online Chinese streaming sites. Plus, her name no longer appears on any movie credits.

Reportedly, the 45-year-old and her husband, Huang Youlong, fled the country on August 28.

It’s been rumoured they took a private jet to Bordeaux airport in France as the couple owns a vineyard there.

Wei, who was once regarded as China’s ‘national idol,’ shot to fame in the 1998 TV series My Fair Princess.

She’s also received critical praise for her leading role in movies such as Dearest and So Young.
